More Than Food

"Jesus answered, 'It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" — Matthew 4:4
 
What do you really need to survive?
 
Ask any expert, and they'll give you a list: air, water, food, shelter, sleep. These are the basics for physical existence. And they're not wrong. Your body needs these things to function.
 
But your soul needs something more.
 
You need faith more than you need food. You need hope more than you need shelter. You need love more than you need oxygen. Because you can have all the physical necessities covered and still be dying on the inside.
 
The disciples had access to food and water and shelter. They had each other. But after Jesus was crucified, they were empty. They had lost the three things that actually mattered: faith, hope, and love. Without those, all the bread in the world couldn't satisfy them.
 
"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).
 
Jesus came to give you more than survival. He came to give you abundant life, and abundant life requires more than calories and a roof over your head. It requires the ability to believe, the capacity to hope, and the power to love.
 
These three essentials are found only in Christ. Without Him, you can exist, but you will never truly live. With Him, you can face anything, endure anything, overcome anything.
 
Don't settle for mere survival. Don't mistake physical comfort for spiritual health. Pursue the One who offers what food and shelter never could: faith, hope, and love that endure forever.
