It’s All About Jesus
For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 2:21)
I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was 12 years old. The moment I turned from sin and placed my faith in Jesus Christ, I rode my bicycle home singing and praising God. Filled with joy, I made up words to a new song. (I wish I had written the words down because I thought they were pretty good at the time.)
God wants to give you a song that honors Him and glorifies Him because that's the image of events in heaven right now. It is all about Jesus. It has always been about Jesus. It will always focus on Jesus.
That is why so many of us are in the wrong place today. We have made it about us. If you have been making your Christian life about you, and you are measuring the quality of your Christian experience based upon what God has done recently to give you this or that; you are upside down. You need to get realigned.
Our whole world and our country are upside down. We are looking to ourselves rather than looking to heaven. That’s why we are messed up. Our country is in deep water right now. There has never been a time like today when we have been so full of ourselves, rather than looking to heaven for help.
Our country desperately needs help. You and I need help. It will only come from heaven. God wants us to experience the greatest worship. When we experience that, God will give you the next steps. The bottom line is this: Don't focus on yourself, focus on the Lord!
