Release People
Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy. (Revelation 22:11)
Please pay special attention to the point made in this verse. As we wait for Jesus to come back, release people to be who they are. You don't have the ability to bring conviction in someone else's life; that is the job of the Holy Spirit. That job has already been taken. You don't need to be concerned about changing this person or changing that person. Just let them do what they are going to do because they will do it anyway.
We are burdened about our friends and family members. We think they are headed on the “highway to hell,” and they are proud of it. The Scripture says, “Let them go.” Don't try to change anyone. You can pray for them. Pray that God will grab hold of their heart, but you don't have the power to change them. If you did, it wouldn't last very long.
When God convicts someone of sin, He knows how to do that. It is important for us in these last days, when we see our friends and family move off of the narrow way, let them go. All you can do is become an intercessor in prayer for them. The Scripture says, “Release the Word, release the people.” Follow this guidance with the people in your lives.
