Are You Serving?
Are You Serving?
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)
God wants you to be involved in ministry and He wants you to serve. He doesn't want you to just sit around and learn things. He wants you to learn Scripture to do things. You need to act out the love of Christ, and the heart of service that Jesus modeled for us. This is why you need to be part of a local church, and be in a small group.
It is very important that you find a ministry where you can connect with people and that you can be involved in personally. You can do that through small groups and other ministry opportunities at your church. However, the onus is on you to do good deeds and express the love of Christ.
If you are not connected to the body of Christ and are not part of a church, there is no one to spur you on in your ministry. There is no one connected to you, and there is no one to encourage you to do the right thing. You are simply floating.
Today, many people are professional “floaters.” They are just floating around, saying, “I'm part of the big body of Christ.” Please remember this, 90% of the time when the word “ekklesia” is used in the New Testament, it refers to the local church. You need to be connected to the body and doing ministry. Whether your ministry is through the local church or on your own, God calls you to serve others.
Are you involved in ministry work? Are you serving in your church? Are you serving in your community? If not, I encourage you to take the time right now to ask God to open doors for you to be able to serve and minister to those around you.
