Reasons for Baptism
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (Romans 6:3)
Because of our Judeo-Christian faith, baptism is important. These are two more reasons for believers to be baptized:
Baptism shows that you are committed to Christ. When someone is baptized, it says, “I am committed publicly to Jesus. I am committed publicly to you who are part of the body of Christ. I am committed to living in righteousness. I am committed to purity and holiness.” It is one thing to make that commitment privately, but when you make a public commitment, you are held accountable to others. Our Lord wants us to be fully committed to Him.
Finally, baptism shows that your past is over and you are dead in Christ. It is a humbling experience to allow someone to put you under the water publicly in front of other people and bring you up out of the water. When you do this, you are saying publicly, “My past is over. I am dead and buried with Christ. I am resurrected with Him.”
Scripture tells us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17) Baptism is a visual representation of this verse. As you go under the water, who you were before Christ goes down with you. When you are “resurrected” out of the water, it demonstrates that your sins have been cleansed and you are a new creation in Christ. This is an amazing picture!
I pray that you will take these reasons to heart and make the decision to be baptized. Your baptism will allow you to preach your very first sermon. It will reveal your obedience and commitment to Christ. Finally, your baptism is declaring publicly, “My past is over. I am dead and buried with Christ.”

I was baptized 3 times. The first time was probably enough, but the second was for peace of mind, and the third time was believers baptism. I have a lot to say.
I understand your message completely. I agree with your logic. Nothing compares to the feeling of finally be at peace with Christ as our redeemer and with our Lord God as the all mighty. Also, knowing full well we have accepted the Holy Spirit to be sealed into our hearts. AMEN
