Praying Instead of Worrying
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
As I watch our country vibrate with all kinds of decisions that are being made and look at what is happening globally, I am heavy at heart. When I look at this, I find myself questioning, “How much more, God, how much more will you allow us to experience?”
Many of us who are baby boomers have experienced a great flow of prosperity in our country. We have seen things come full circle. There seems to be a season right now of unbelievable disaster. Our culture cries out against God, in every way. In my lifetime, I have seen prayer taken out of schools, and we have disdained any kind of Christian values. We have redefined morality as to what is right and wrong, and what is acceptable.
If you are parents of millennials or Gen-Xers, you battle with the values of your children who have been captivated by this culture. Even though you have raised them in the church, their values are being swayed by what their friends believe rather than what the Word of God says.
You need to claim the Word of God. When you raise up a child according to the Word of God, He will deal with them. The story is not over for your children; there is still hope. That is why you need to be an intercessor for them.
It is in your best interest and in your children’s best interest that you spend more time praying for them than you do worrying about them. Of course, this world is a lot different now than it used to be. And yes, there is plenty to worry about if we succumb to our flesh and the temptations that come with being human. Ultimately, we serve a God who loves us and loves our children even more than we do. He will take care of them. Try to be diligent in praying for our children, rather than wasting time worrying about them and attempting to change things we can’t control.

Amen. Someone prayed for me. Praise God His mercies are new every morning. I will never accept a lie from the devil over my children. They are blessed and their children's children's will be blessed in Jesus name. Amen.
My friends and I do a lot of praying for each other and our families and things that are going on in the world. And we pray for our pastors, too that they will be true to preaching the Word
Very well-written!
Words so true! Prayers for our children do not fall on deaf ears, God is mighty to save, believe it even in the silence. I am very Blessed by the weekly meetings of the Prayer Moms at Westside Church. Knowing other faith-filled moms are praying too encourages me to keep praying!
Can I think a prayer, or do I have to verbally say a prayer?
I dedicated My. Children to GOD many years ago. I am still waiting, Trusting in The Lord for their Salvation. God will provide. His Word Will Prevail. PRAISE THE LORD, Thank YOU JESUS ! GLORY
