Your Testimony and God’s Word
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
We have so much power available to make a difference for the Kingdom because of what Jesus has done for us. I want us to look at two specific ways we can use Christ’s power in our lives. When we become aware of these two powerful tools, we will be more equipped and encouraged to share that power with those around us. As believers, we sincerely want others to experience the same love and hope that comes with following Jesus.
There is power in your testimony. Many people don't understand how powerful their testimony is. Your story (your experience about giving your life to Christ and turning to Jesus) is very powerful. Most of the people on this planet have not had an encounter like you have had with Jesus. When you tell them the story about how you turned from sin and placed your faith in Christ, it is very powerful. Because your story can have a huge impact on someone else, don’t be afraid to share it!
Also, God’s Word is very powerful. I have been asked many times, “Why should we quote Scripture to someone who doesn't believe in the Bible?” Because there is power in the Word of God! God's Word will last forever. We not only need to use our testimony to share Christ with other people, but also we need to use the Word of God. It is through the Word of God that the Holy Spirit draws people to faith in Jesus.
I pray that you will ask the Lord to use your story and His Word in powerful ways. Embrace the power you have in Jesus Christ and boldly share with others what the Lord has done for you. After you have shared your testimony and the Word of God with others, the Holy Spirit can step in to do a mighty work in their lives.
