Getting Saved
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”(John 14:6-7)
As a child, I grew up in church and learned to memorize Scripture before I gave my life to Christ. Little did I know that my choice to memorize Scripture would play a major part in how I came to faith in Christ.
I took what I had learned and memorized, and I tried to share it with one of my friends. After quoting John 3:16, John 14:6, Romans 3:23, and Romans 10:13, I asked him several questions. “Have you ever given your life to Christ? Have you ever had a one-time experience when you acknowledged that Jesus is Lord? Have you ever admitted that you were a sinner and invited Christ to come inside your life and be the boss of your life?” He looked at me and said, “No, have you?” I had to say “No.”
I was witnessing as a 12-year-old to another 12-year-old, and quoting the Word of God. However, I had never aligned my heart with what I had learned and memorized in my head. The memorization of the Word of God in my mind brought conviction to my heart. Because I realized that I did not know Christ, I made the life-changing decision to follow Him.
Without the Word of God, I would have never been saved, and neither would you! That’s why we stand on the Bible. The Word of God spells out exactly what we need to do to come to faith in Jesus Christ. The Word of God is essential for our redemption.

I am thankful that I was brought up in a church that preached the Word of God and the plan of salvation. I love belonging to Jesus
Thank You Dr Dodd for sharing Your story of yourself as a twelve year old boy. As mentioned, You memorized Scripture and could recite it word for word. Yet, until You, believed it in Your heart, it was just words. Yes, God's Word is "life changing" ... however, we must trust, accept, and believe in God's Word ... then admit and repent of our sins to receive His Salvation !! I'm so very thankful for that salvation in my life 🙠!! Also, thanks to Dr Dodd for his ministry now and then, as a young boy !
Amen to that !
Read John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the word...
