What Love!
“My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46)
In those moments on the cross, Jesus felt abandoned by God. Think about that. When we trust God, and become His children, He promises never to forsake us, and always to be with us. Jesus’ death, though, is the one time in history when that promise was not applied. Why? On the cross, the spotless Lamb of God took all our sins upon Himself. In that instant, a Holy God could not have fellowship with sin. God could not have sin in His presence. Did God forsake His Son? Yes, but only long enough for the path to be paved, through the blood of Christ for us to become His children.
When my mind goes there, I want to cry out, “What love! What a sacrifice!” That old chorus resonates in my heart right now:
“Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong, they are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.”
I honestly can’t get my mind around this! It overwhelms and overpowers me! I can’t even grasp for a moment the intensity of His suffering sacrifice for me. Charles H. Gabriel wrote it well when he penned:
“I stand amazed in the presence
of Jesus the Nazarene,
and wonder how he could love me,
a sinner, condemned, unclean.
How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful
is my Savior’s love for me!”
Whatever you do, don’t get over the awe and wonder of God’s love and provision for you. Refuse to allow the deep, vast reaches of your faith to become mundane and impotent in your life. If the “holy” has slipped into the category of another “factoid,” regain your grip immediately by remembering how Jesus paid for your salvation…and recapture your song!

I am in awe every day as how deep and vast His love is for me. No earthly love can even come close to how much He loves me! I don't praise Him enough. I love to hear what He has to say through the Bible each day â¤
As I Sit here looking out my window, watching much needed rain falling like liquid gold. I think of God's Majesty. I Marvel at His Grace and Mercy. Thank YOU FATHER for JESUS' S Sacrifice GLORY !
