Remember, Repent, and Return
Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5)
We talked about the danger of forgetting your first love, Jesus Christ our Savior. For many Christians today, their faith is not the same as it used to be. They feel distant, lukewarm, and ineffective for the Kingdom. The good news is that we don’t have to stay that way!
If you have forgotten your first love, there is a cure. There is hope. It comes in three simple steps: “remember, repent, and return.”
Remember: God wants to be in your mind always. Part of the reason we grow distant and lukewarm is because we don’t remember God’s faithfulness. God has a track record in each believer’s life. It is important that we continue to remind ourselves of God’s goodness with us if we want to remain on fire for Him. If you want to fall in love with Jesus again, remember how it used to be. Keep on remembering.
Repent: It is easy to allow your mind to go in the wrong direction. Do you ever have that problem? That is why John is saying in today’s verse, “Keep on repenting.” You never get through with repenting. Some of us might say, “I repented in 1964 and it still stands.” No! A lot of water has gone underneath your bridge since 1964. Allow your testimony to be up to date where you are saying, “Lord, I want my mind and my behavior to align with you.” Repent! If you want to fall in love again, acknowledge your sin, change your mind, and head in the opposite direction.
Return: The final thing we are told to do is to return; return and do the works that you did at first. What is John saying here? In the Greek language, he is saying, “Do it at once. Return immediately. Don't wait.” I want to give you some important guidance: “Act your way into a new way of feeling. Do not feel your way into a new way of acting.” We must take the step to return, regardless of how we feel, because we know that God’s truth always overrides our feelings.
If you are saved and the fire has gone out, follow these steps: “remember, repent, and return.” As believers, many of us have become complacent because we have forgotten how it used to be. We have not repented in a very long time, and we are not returning to do what we first did when we first fell in love with Jesus. There is still hope for you, but we must “remember, repent, and return.” If we do that, the love and the fire for Christ will come back. There is hope for you right now!

I learned through discipleship classes to start each day with devotions.God speaks through His Word. He wants us each to start every day conversing with Him. That way it isn't so hard to remember to keep Him in my mind and heart
Good for You!! Yes, our "Walk with Our God" is a daily event ... we must "call upon Him" each and every day ðŸ™!!
I Believe, I Believe, I Believe PRAISE GOD, Thank YOU JESUS !
I pray and study the bible and pray everyday and I repent often I want to say everyday but I still feel lost and disconnected and I feel defeated by the enemy a lot of times I have one of my granddaughters now and I feel like she is possessed sometimes I don't know if that's true or if the enemy is using that to get to me I also think sometimes she is molesting her little sister and again I don't know if that's true or if my mind is playing tricks on me it could very well be the devil playing with my mind but I don't put nothing past her because she is only 11 years old but nobody wants to be bothered with her and she is a master manipulator and could very well be guilty of all these things all I know is I was happy and on fire for God before she came and now I'm questioning my faith I know she is up to some kind of darkness because she is always mumbling and making hand gestures and I feel like it could be witchcraft I don't want this in my house but it's family and I don't know what to do asking for prayers and answers last night I had a weird dream about vessels of honor vs dishonor and the antichrist and it was very clear about who's who and what's what
