Commitment To The Church
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:10)
If it was important for Jesus to identify with the local church and partner with them, don't you think it is important for you too? Many people, especially in our culture today, are faithful attendees. However, there is no commitment to a particular local church. Commitment is very important to the local church where you live. That is where you do ministry.
A number of people attend many different churches; they go from church to church based on what they feel at a particular moment. This is almost like saying, “I don't want anyone to catch me in one place all the time, because someone might ask me to do something.”
But the reality is, there is an expectation and a presupposition that you will commit to doing something. That’s what a partnership is all about. You bring something to the table; together in that relationship and in that community, you accomplish the will of God to do what He wants you to do in ministry. You and I need to realize that God has called us to be actively involved and committed to a local church.
You need to be involved. You need to be doing ministry. You need to raise your hand and say, “Pick me. Use me. I'm ready to serve.”

I am obedient to God and always serve in the church. There is always someone who needs to know about Jesus. There are a lot of lost people even in the church
It is very difficult today to find a local church that actually is involved in Evangelism or Missions. Many churches support organizations outside the local church and no longer offer these opportunities to local members. The majority of churches do not even visit those who visits the local Church. After 28 years in ministry I barley recognize the Church anymore. But that does justify believers for not being intentional each day to share the Gospel with everyone we have a chance to. I enjoy your devotions. They are encouraging and at times very timely for the how the lord has called me to serve. God bless
Thank You for this message. Father I Praise You for Your Grace and Mercy !
I just read last night a verse Isaiah 6:8 "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
Not many people know this verse. I am sure there are some people waiting for you to invite them to join you in what you are already doing for the Lord.
This is a message for all believers to apply to their lives. We aren't just to tell people we meet about Jesus, but also to serve others by meeting individual needs. They can be so simple. Case in point, I presently live in a rehab center. The Lord has led me to pray for my aides. It is an amazing way to connect with people. One lady I just brought the daily newspaper to her room and I couldn't believe the impact that little act of caring for her meant to her. People get forgotten here. It is so sad, but I tell them Jesus hasn't forgotten about them. If we reach out to people and try to meet their needs in little ways God will fill us with such joy!! People want to have a listening ear! If someone gives me a compliment I just tell them it is Jesus!! I want people to see Jesus in me wherever I go !! Thank you for this message!! God bless the body of Christ!! We are His hands and feet!!
