A Challenge To Give
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. – Luke 6:38
Do you realize that when it comes to giving at the local church, 20% of the people give 80% of the church budget? The other 80% only give 20% of the budget. This is true for the majority of churches in our country.
Do you understand the implications of this? For every church made up of believers, if everyone would tithe 10%, do you realize that we would not need a welfare system in this country? Instead of looking to the government to subsidize people who struggle financially, the local church would be doing that.
This comes out of the heritage of our Jewish roots. In the synagogue, the local assembly of believing Jews took up an offering for a special fund to cover the needs of widows and orphans. This fund was used to underwrite the needs of the widows and orphans in their believing community. God's plan was never a governmental welfare program. The government had to step in because the church failed to be the church.
When I talk about giving, I want you to understand that it’s more than just about giving your money. It is about utilizing everything that God has given you, your energy, your heart, and your life. It is easy to write a check, but God wants you to engage in ministry and give of everything you have. With this in mind, we need to ask ourselves, “Are we living on what God says is already His?
God is saying, I know that you have a difficult time and that you struggle with giving. But I want you to get into a giving contest with me and watch what I will do in your life. That is what He is saying, and I believe this is a challenge that is worth taking.

I find it a privilege to tithe my income to the church. I also use my cooking and sewing talents to benefit others. God has definitely rewarded me in many ways. Thanks for all of your daily devotions.
I love to give my tithe to the church. I also give of my time. It's great to give back to the Lord
I have tithed all of my adult life, even when it was difficult. The Lord has blessed me many times over what I could have done myself. God be the Glory!
I need help with my giving. God knows it. PRAISE JESUS !
