Are You Willing To Give It All?
“As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you the truth,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” - Luke 21:1-4
Do you realize that one of the people Jesus honored the most while He was on earth was a little widow? Having almost nothing, she gave two very small copper coins, all the money she had, out of faith and a heart of generosity. This offering was called the “Widow's Mite.”

Those copper coins were almost worthless. Today, they are quite expensive. If you go to Israel and try to buy one of those widow’s mites, they are very expensive. But at the time of her generosity, even though the coins weren’t worth much, Jesus honored the widow because she gave it all.
God wants us to live like that, trusting Him with everything. He hasn't asked you to give it all, but what if He did? Would you be willing to give the way this widow did? Are you even willing to give 10%, which is what God does ask of you? My prayer is that you will think long and hard about your answers to these questions, and as you do, ask the Lord to give you a heart full of faith, trust, and generosity.
