You Are In Process
To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them -- not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. – 1 Peter 5:1-4
Let me ask you a question. Where is your heart? Why do you do what you do for the Kingdom of God? Why do you do what you do for your business? Is it because you have to do it? If you have to, you probably won't be there very long. If you have no other choice, that will not sustain you during difficult times.
If you are doing what you do with the motive from the inside, that will sustain you for decades. In fact, it will sustain you for the rest of your life! The Simon Peter who we first meet in the Gospels is not the same Simon Peter who we meet in 1 Peter. He became everything God wanted him to become. But that growth didn’t happen without some struggles, trials, and challenges along the way. Peter was in process for his entire life. And he faced more than enough hardship. But that didn’t stop him from being a godly leader.
Maybe you haven't arrived yet. Quite frankly, none of us have. But that doesn’t disqualify you from leadership. God wants you to lead and to be involved. He wants all of us to be serving, leading, and caring for His flock because it is a joy, a privilege, and an honor to lead and serve. So with this in mind, I pray that you are ready to serve. I pray you are eager to serve and that you can't wait to jump into action.

Yes, I am always in a process to be refined. I am a willing servant for Jesus. I serve so that more people will have their names put in the Book of Life.
I try to serve God in many ways. I use my quilting skills to make quilts for Veterans and for children (and adults) that are being baptized. It is very meaningful to me.
