Faith and Understanding
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
We live in a culture where we highly value knowledge and intelligence. Like the saying goes, “Knowledge is power,” we think the more we know, the better off we will be. However, knowledge isn’t the only thing we should be pursuing in our relationship with Jesus.
Don’t get me wrong. It is wonderful to gain knowledge and understanding regarding Scripture, the life of Jesus, and the character of God. In fact, you should want to know as much as possible about all of these aspects of your Christian walk. However, it is also important to remember that you will not always understand everything. You might not comprehend why bad things happen to good people. You might not understand why God is doing certain things that don’t make sense. This is where faith enters the picture.
Scripture tells us, And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith is non-negotiable in your relationship with Christ. Faith is the only way you will be able to walk through life, because faith is what you lean into when your knowledge and understanding are exhausted.
God will always do things which don’t make sense from our perspective. Remember, He is God and we are not. His ways and thoughts will always be higher than ours. We can be confident that He knows what is best; our trust and faith in Him are never in vain. I encourage you to take some time today and ask God to renew your faith, especially when you lack understanding. He will honor your request, and He will restore your trust in Him.

I don't understand why things are happening to me I ripped the bicep muscle in my left arm I've never had problems lifting before and I'm struggling financially I just don't get it
When I am overwhelmed with problems, I try to think of Jesus words, "In this world you will have tribulation" and of the widow who put 2 mites, all she had, in the Treasury. And Daniel and all the trials and tests he went through.
There is a lot that I don't understand. I pray that the Holy Spirit will help interpret some more things to me. May I stay in the Word
Praise Jesus. Thank You God,
