Abiding and Resting
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
If you are going through difficult times in your life right now, you need to learn the spiritual practice of abiding. What does it mean to abide? Let me give you an example.
I love the couches that we have in our church foyer. I often sit in them before I come into the auditorium. I have thought that we could move the cameras so I could preach sitting on a couch. It is so restful and peaceful. That’s what it means to abide in Christ. We should be at peace with Him at all times.
This doesn't necessarily mean everything is okay and life is perfect. Recently, I was sitting on the couch and talking with one of our members. He is struggling with some physical issues. When you are abiding, everything might not be great. Sometimes, when times are tough, you need to learn the spiritual discipline of abiding, resting, and leaning back on Jesus.
Is there something you have been struggling with recently? Have you found yourself feeling anxious, worried, overwhelmed, and fearful of what is to come? If so, please understand that these feelings come from the evil one.
I pray that you will intentionally take some time today to abide and rest in your Heavenly Father. He wants to support you and help you. Because He will give you the peace that surpasses all understanding, choose to abide in Him today.

I am going through an extremely low time in my life and trying to make my situation less stressfulI. I do suffer with depression. The statement that satan is behind the worry I am feeling made me want to ask for prayers.

I understand totally. I am going through a very stressful time also taking care of my husband who needs 24 7 care feeling angry that his life changed from a Strong man that could do anything to the way he is now. It is not his fault but I lash out at him in anger wanting him to be the way he used to be. My Heart is broken but God gave me a word today that all this anger and stress and worry is from satan, I prayed and TOLD Satan to get OUT OF ME AND OUT OF MY LIFE I CHOOSE CHRIST. Christ said to Give it to HIM and HE WOULD TAKE MY BURDENS ON HIS SHOULDERS. When I prayed it was like a GREAT WEIGHT WAS LIFTED GOD IS SO GOOD and HE LOVES BOTH YOU AND ME.I know Satan will try to creep back in but I must remember that CHRIST HAS IT and when Satan tries to creep back in I know it will be hard but I need to remember to ask Jesus to take care me and keep satan away. It will be an ongoing Struggle but MY GOD HAS ALREADY conqured satan and this world. PRAISE GOD

I pray for Kendra that she will abide in You, Jesus. That You will use her in a mighty way for Your kingdom. To lift her burdens off her shoulders so that she won't be stuck anymore
