A Defining Encounter
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:5)
One thing that is true for every follower of Jesus is that there has been a specific, defining moment where you decided to hand your life over to the Lord. There’s no way you can be a Christian for your entire life, because if that were true, that moment wouldn’t exist. You can’t become a Christian if you don’t have type of encounter.
Do you remember the day when you were headed in one direction, had an encounter with Christ, and turned in the opposite direction? You gave control of your life to Him, turned from your sin, and placed all of your faith in Him. You must have a life-changing encounter if you want to become a Christian, if you want to join Him in His battle against the enemy.
Romans 10:13 says, “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” God has not made the most important decision in your life difficult. He has made it easy! All He wants you to do is call out to Him and invite Christ to be the Lord of your life. My prayer is that if you haven’t already made this decision, that today would be the day you turn from your sin and place your faith in Him. I promise it will be the best decision you will ever make.

I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was 11 years old but I didn't turn my life over to Him until I was 42 years old. I felt like my life was a puzzle with a piece missing until I gave Him my heart and my life. What a difference my life has been ever since.
At the age of 5 I visited a Baptist Churxh down the street from my grandmother's whom I was visiting at the time. I sat on the front pew and was overcome by a message of repentance or Hell. I remember a lady asking me if I wanted to trust Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I did. After that , I remember always having that awareness that God was Sovereign although not really knowing what that meant until later in life. Over the years, had several people in my life the Lord sent to continue to witness, minister and pray to me in my life of rebellion as a young adult. I had not fully surrendered my life until having my first child. I knew my life was not my own and never had been. But, by God's grace, I knew the only hope for her in this world and ours was through a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. We later had our second daughter and as a family, we were each baptized in Christ and continue to grow in Him. Starting out in the New Testament of the Bible, I met Jesus and have never looked back; I am 63. I wish I could say that I have honored the Lord my entire life as a born again Christian ,after having received His grace and mercy through His blood; the truth is He is still working out His perfect plan of salvation and sanctification in me daily, a giving up of my own desires for His and learning to walk in the Spirit rather than my flesh. The difference is, I want to honor Him and I am saddened when I do fail and I don't purposely live a life of rebellion contrary to God's Word. At the end of the day, His mercies are new every morning and He is always willing to forgive as we confess our sin and walk with Him in humility. If I choose to go outside of His will, I get what I get and have no one to blame but myself. His ways are perfect and He is a kind and loving God full of mercy and ready to forgive as we humble ourselves. He is also a just God and hates sin and I loose fellowship with him when I do. I find comfort in His will and the continual surrendering of my own to His glory. I am constantly reminded of those that came along side of me to pray for me and wanted and believed God's best for me. I truly believe that is the best gift we can give someone is to pray for them and to believe God's best for them and to love them as the Lord has loved us through His Son. Thank you, Jesus I believe that You are the Son of God and Lord and God raised You from the dead and I am saved to the glory of God our Father. Amen. ðŸ™
