The Triumphal Entry
The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” (Matthew 21:9-11)
In the Palm Sunday triumphal entry passage, the people were praising and honoring the Lord. To welcome Jesus into Jerusalem, they laid palm branches and their clothes on the ground. As they were waving palm branches, they were crying out, “Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” What a praise-filled welcome for Jesus!
In just a few days, that adoration would turn into scorn, the arrest of Jesus, a mock trial, brutal torture, and the horrible crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Even though crucifixion was the most gruesome event in all of history, God was not through with the story. The crucifixion provided forgiveness for you and for me.
When we choose to turn from sin and place our faith in Jesus Christ, and allow His shed blood to cover us and pay for our ungodliness, we are forgiven. Jesus did a good thing for us, but it happened through an awful crucifixion. This is a great reminder that God doesn’t want us to dwell on the bad. He wants us to concentrate on the good that comes from the bad. God wants us to focus on the empty tomb because that is where we find our hope.
For many of us, we look at the cross as just a symbol of Christianity. It is far more than that. It is God’s tremendous power for your life. If you do not engage with the cross of Jesus, you will miss out on having the power of God to change your life.

Thank you Jesus for the cross n your shed blood 🩸 Amen n Amen
After I saw the Passion of Christ, I had to go to work. I envisioned Him sitting next to me in a chair. He had the same enthusiastic reaction as the guy in the movie when he realized that he had risen and beaten death. I keep that enthusiastic vision in my heart. Thank You, Jesus
