The Path To Forgiveness
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. – Ephesians 4:32
According to the Mayo Clinic, forgiveness can lead to healthier relationships, improved mental health, less anxiety, stress, and hostility, fewer symptoms of depression, lower blood pressure, a stronger immune system, improved heart health, and improved self-esteem.
Some of us are messed up because we are not forgiving other people. This hurts you more than you can imagine. You will have such a better quality of life if you will choose to forgive. Not to mention, you will not need a doctor as much. The very best thing you could learn how to do is forgive.
Now, learning the path to forgiveness will take time. It’s not a one-time lesson. There are times in my life when I have offended people. Just because I am a pastor doesn’t mean I haven’t hurt people. I have told you that the greatest thing you could ever do for me as a pastor is to pray for me. I am not perfect. When I point a finger at you, I have three fingers pointing back at me. I have the privilege of preaching on things that I have walked through personally. And quite frankly, forgiveness is one of them.
Learning how to forgive will take your entire life. You will not be able to do it without a relationship with Jesus. He is the One who can empower you to forgive. He is the One who empowers you to receive forgiveness from Him. That is where you need to start.
Do you know Jesus? Have you experienced His forgiveness first? Unless you have received forgiveness from Jesus, it will be very difficult for you to give it away to someone else. You can't give away what you don't have!

I have accepted Jesus as my Savior and I do forgive others when I feel like they have done an offense to me. It isn't easy. Sometimes I need to keep asking for a repentant heart to see them as Jesus would. To go on and concentrate on what is before me
Yes forgiveness is to be obedient. I need Jesus's help. Matthew 18:22
nJesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Scripture is the Spirit of God empowering me. Thank you for reminding me to forgive today. I easily see where others need to forgive, but where am I holding back love? Thinking of the scriptures when God shows me how much He's forgiven me. Scripture calls me wicked for holding anything against another? And I get physically better, icing on the cake!
