Praying In Faith
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. – Ephesians 3:20
In between the services one morning at church, a couple came up to me and reminded me of a moment in our foyer several years ago. The wife had been battling bone cancer for quite some time. The doctors had dealt with that and had healed her. However, there was a secondary problem. She developed in the same leg an infection that would not go away. She had gone to twelve different doctors and none of them were able to help. She was scheduled for surgery on the next day on Monday to try to address the problem.
As they shared the story, I remember all of the details. They told me this, “You saw her sitting in the wheelchair, and you just came over. You asked what was happening.” They told me what would take place the next day. “You prayed a very simple prayer. You just prayed, ‘Lord, you know her needs physically right now, and what she needs. Lord, why don’t you go ahead and do it right now, and heal her body, in Jesus’ name, Amen.’”
She went home as usual after church that day, got a good night’s rest, and woke up the next morning ready to go in for surgery. But when she got to the hospital, the doctors discovered that the infection was totally gone! Not a trace of it was left in her body.
This is what can happen when we choose to pray in faith. When we pray big prayers, God is more than capable of answering them. And when we pray in accordance with His will, He answers us in ways that are so far beyond anything we could ask for or imagine.
When was the last time you prayed in faith? You didn’t just go through the motions of praying, but you prayed wholeheartedly believing God was going to answer your request, no matter how big or impossible it seemed. If it’s been a while, I would encourage you to bring to the feet of Jesus whatever is weighing on your heart. Pray big prayers. Pray in faith, and trust that He will work all things together for your good and His ultimate glory.

I have seen and heard of many prayers being answered by that same simple prayer. We just need to have faith in our hearts
