How To Start Reading Your Bible
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
The Bible is alive for you today. If you haven't experienced that, you need to spend time alone with God. As you are hungry to hear His voice, just breathe a simple prayer, “Jesus, I really need a word from you today. I just need to hear from you.” With expectancy, that is what faith is all about.
Start reading. You don’t necessarily have to read a whole chapter. It is important to read the Word of God and hear the Word of God every day and get through the Scripture. Your goal is not to complete the novel, to get to the end of the play or the movie. No, the Word of God, where Jesus speaks to us every day, is to be one step at a time. You might read just a couple of verses and the Spirit of God stops you right in your tracks. Be content to stop right there. That's important. Don't think you will not get credit unless you read the whole chapter, or that you have made it all the way through the verses you were supposed to read today. You have your whole life on this planet to live.
When God speaks to you through His Word, focus there, and allow Him to speak to you until that Word from God, from His Word becomes yours. Journal it, write it down, and take notes. Remember what He said.
When God told you something in the past, He stays with it for your present and your future. That is why He gives you a word, a promise from His Word, so you can hear the voice of Jesus. When you are going through tough times, His promise takes you all the way through.

I will ask Jesus to speak to me through the Bible. I am excited to hear from Him
I enjoy the first part of the morning in quiet time with the Lord before starting the day. Sometimes, I just pick of my Bible and start reading. Sometimes I am led to a certain passage from a message I heard and sometimes the Lord has put on my heart a passage as I am experiencing a challenge of some sort. But, overall starting the day in prayer and quiet time with Him helps me to be encouraged and strengthened to meet the needs of the day and that I might trust His grace and mercy to lead and to do His good will. Thank You, Jesus. Amen. ðŸ™
Amen Robin, may your rewards be full of God's love. ðŸ‘🌻
