The Promise of the Holy Spirit
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever -- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” (John 14:15-17)
The upper room meal was over, and Jesus was preparing the disciples for His departure. Judas had left to make his final betrayal arrangements. Simon Peter boldly declared his loyalty until death and Jesus unpacked his denial before all the disciples. He gave them a glimpse of the Father’s house and their future place with Him. Jesus made it very clear how to get there, only through Him. Before He departed, He gave them a glimpse of His plan -- the Holy Spirit.
He told them that the Holy Spirit would come alongside them. In fact, the Greek word for “advocate” means “one who comes alongside another.” Jesus made it clear to them (and to us) that the Holy Spirit would dwell within us. In the Old Testament, the Spirit of God would come upon men for acts of service and then depart. Now, from Pentecost on, the Holy Spirit would actually indwell men. This was something completely different from anything that had ever happened!
The Holy Spirit indwells those who actually know Jesus; He lives inside them. His work has many facets and is definitely worthy of study. This is an amazing truth, one which must never be taken lightly, ignored or taken for granted. What a gift the Holy Spirit is! He is the One who guides and confirms truth to us. When you hear something, and it doesn’t quite sound right to you as a believer, the Holy Spirit is at work. When you sense the urge to speak on Jesus’ behalf to a seeking soul, and you are mindfully sensitive to your own sin; it is the Holy Spirit who is revealing, encouraging and convicting you.
Before the disciples knew they would need the Holy Spirit, Jesus told them all about His work. Thank the Lord this day for the work of the Holy Spirit in your life, family, church and world. He lives within you and will move you into a deeper walk with Jesus! Hallelujah!

This is one of the scriptures that I take to heart regarding my Christian witness. Outside of faith, nothing else matters if you don't have obedience and love
When you accept Christ Jesus as your Savior, and develop a meaningful relationship with Him through daily prayer and understanding God's word, His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, will guide you in all things. This is the Spirit of Truth, it is the Spirit of Jesus, it is the Spirit of God's word and it becomes the Spirit of all peace in our lives. This is how we should conduct ourselves in all of our relationships, not by our understanding of rules, facts and regulations or social pressure, but by the SPIRIT of Christ Jesus and His TRUTH. It is the SPIRIT that's important, not the belief of self or others. HALLELUJAH!
Every good idea I ever had came from the Holy Spirit. I welcome Him along every day.
Thank You Holy Spirit for working in my life so that I am able to witness to others. And to help bring others to Christ
WELCOME HOLY SPIRIT!
