Sit With Those Who Are Hurting
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. – Hebrews 13:1
When we hear about one of our brothers or sisters going through a difficult time, we need to come in when the whole world goes out! Whether they are struggling in their marriage, with their health, or with their kids, that is when we need to come alongside them.
When you sit with people who are struggling, you are saying, “I may not be able to fix what you are walking through, but I will be there with you.” This is the kind of church that God blesses. This is the kind of people who God blesses.
Are you that kind of person? Are we that kind of people? I pray that we are.
If we are not there yet, it’s time to become counter-cultural and break out of our comfort zones. It’s time to reach out to those who are hurting and show them the love of Jesus.
We should do our best to open our lives to love God's people. God has brought many people into our lives who need to be loved. Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone and sit with someone who’s hurting?
I encourage you to take some time today to pray and ask God to lay someone on your heart who you can minister to. Ask Him to help you love on this person with His love and show them that they’re not alone in what they’re going through. You never know how reaching out and loving on this person could change their entire life.

May I be a person who will be supporting others when they are hurting. I am around people that are hurting a lot. I try to say encouraging words to them each day and pray for those that need a kind word said about them
