Dealing with Doubt
“But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:23-24)
We know that it is important to pray in faith. Praying big prayers can be scary, especially when you are asking for the “impossible.” We serve a big God who is capable of anything.
You have seen this scenario many times in a football game. A quarterback will drop back and throw a pass intended for a receiver, but a defensive player intercepts the pass. It could change the outcome of that game, just because one pass was intercepted. For us, “interceptors” can grab the pass of prayer.
Doubt can intercept our ability to pray in faith. Doubt says, “I know God can, but He probably won't.” Many of us think like that. God wants to bless me abundantly, but we say, “He probably won't.” Many of us have this negative mindset; we think it will be a miracle if God does something in our lives.
The reality is that none of us deserve for God to bless us, nor to even use us, but God does have a plan. For many of us, we are stuck, just like the father in Mark. When he had a son who needed to be healed, he said this to Jesus, “But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” Apparently, he doubted that Jesus could actually heal his son.
Because of doubt, many of us are drawn into thinking, “I don't deserve for God to do anything in my life. I've lived such a horrible life; I don't deserve anything.” That’s right, you don't, but our God is a great God. He is a gracious God. He wants you to believe and trust Him.
He wants you to move from being on your own to leaning on Him. He can help you if you will push through that doubt and remember that God will bless you abundantly. As Paul wrote, “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
Remember this Scripture. It will help you deal with the issues of doubt in your life.

May I believe and not waver. It is hard when you don't get the help you need for a given situation .
Father God, give Betty your peace within the situation she finds herself. Provide for her. I don’t know what it is but You do Lord. Give her guidance and your strength as she waits on you. Thank you Father that you always hear us and answer the prayers of your children. In Christ Jesus, amen
I trust the Lord for All his Grace and Mercy. Sometimes it is very difficult not to get impatient to see My prayers answered the way I want, even though I know GOD knows best !
