Shedding Tears
Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll -- are they not in your record? (Psalm 56:8)
Have you shed tears with someone? You didn't do it as an act; they just came. Tears say, “I care.” The Christian life does not have to be lived without tears. Tears are very important. As one person said, “Tears are the words that the heart cannot share.” God allows us to share that brokenness.
Sadly, I don’t think we realize how disconnected we are spiritually from the things of God, and from the people of God. With many of us, we would rather embrace hardness than embrace tears. That is a real problem.
When is the last time you wept? We are missing something when we don’t weep. I am an encourager and I love to encourage people. I love for people to laugh. I love celebrations. However, the real breakthroughs happen in our lives, not because we celebrate, but because we are broken, and we have been bruised. We are crying out for God's help for ourselves, and for the people we love. If you are not there, you become hard, and hardness describes a disconnection.
I would rather write about the three steps to becoming happy, but I can't. Not today. Instead, I want my heart to be seen, and if it occurs, also my tears. Maybe, we need to acknowledge that we are not broken over our sin, and we need to be in tears over our lack of brokenness. We are so self-absorbed that we have forgotten to even look at how broken our world is. We need to be a fellowship of tears.

No doubt the Lord has a pretty big bottle for me! Love this post. Thank you.
Lord I have cried many of tears but I ask Lord that you would bring me back to a closer place with you and make my heart softer that I cry tears of joy for you oh Lord . Lord I need oh how I need you
I am in a Bible study that we weep over each other's family members who have fallen into the worlds way of living. We also rejoice over our accomplishments
Thank you! I cry right often as I wear my heart on my sleeve and when I see someone upset it makes me upset. You're such an encouragement to me, Dr. Dodd! Thank you for doing what the Lord has called you to do!
