An Amazing God
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20)
This is one of my all-time favorite verses in Scripture, because it reminds me how God is able to work in ways so far above and beyond what my human mind can comprehend. Anything we could think up, dream up, or make up in our heads, He can surpass it with His goodness and His grace. Isn’t that amazing?
Take a minute to think about all the work God has done in your life. Think about all that He’s given you and blessed with you. Think about the second chances, third chances, and fourth chances He’s granted you because of His mercy and love for you. If we’re being honest, none of us deserve to be treated that way or given that much grace, which makes that grace far more meaningful.
I pray you never forget how good your Heavenly Father is to you. Even when you can’t understand why He does what He does or why He chooses to work on a time frame that never matches yours, He is still good. He is still faithful. And He is still working to give you abundantly and immeasurably more than all you could ask or imagine.
My challenge for you as you remember this truth is this: Take some time to write down a list of how God has been good to you. Put to paper some of the things He’s blessed you with – your health, your relationships, your resources, your ability to see, hear, and taste – anything you can think of, put it on that list. And then spend some time in prayer thanking God for these things, acknowledging His grace and goodness towards you.
