Quiet Time Relieves Stress
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else -- to the nearby villages -- so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. (Mark 1:35-39)
We have circumstances in our lives which cause stress. Whether it’s our job, our finances, or our relationships, we are juggling many things, while trying to keep our heads above water. Regardless of what life throws at us, we can learn how to handle stress in a healthy, Christ-honoring way. Jesus set a great example for us on how to deal with stress; and that example comes from the first chapter in the Gospel of Mark.
In this passage, Jesus got up early in the morning and went off by Himself to spend time alone with the Father. Jesus made this a priority before spending the day ministering to other people. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35)
If you have been in church for a while, you may have heard this concept referred to as a “quiet time.” One of the greatest catalysts for growth in any relationship is quality time, and your relationship with the Lord is no different. It is very important that you are taking time each day to be alone with your Heavenly Father.
It doesn’t matter if you spend that quiet time with Him in the morning (like Jesus did), or if you spend it late at night, or if your quiet time is somewhere in the middle. The only thing that matters is that you take time to hear from the Lord in a quiet place where you are free from distractions.
If you are looking for a way to relieve your stress and find more peace, spending time with God every day is the best way to do that. If you are not already in the habit of having a daily quiet time, start today, and ask God to give you that daily desire to meet with Him.

I love spending quiet time with my Heavenly Father. I need that jump start every day.
The Holy Spirit must really be trying to say something to us today about stress. Our Daily Bread was also about being still with the Lord to relieve stress.
My Quiet Time with God Almighty is the most important time of My Day. I cherish and depend on it Thank YOU JESUS, You made it Possible !
I surely need to make it a habit.
I awoke and my flesh wanted to sleep but my spirit said "you must get up as you have much to do today, so you need to spend time with the Lord so get up now." Praise God!
