Admitting You Don’t Know Everything
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. – James 1:19
If you have the mentality that you can always learn, you are in a healthy place. You can learn things from anyone, whether they are older or younger. We all need to have a mentality that says, “I haven't arrived yet, and I can always learn something new because I don't know everything.”
We are walking a dangerous path if we think we have all the answers or that there’s nothing else we can learn from anyone or anything. That is nothing but arrogance, and that is the exact opposite of the heart posture God wants us to have.
Jesus wants us to have a teachable spirit. As long as we are on this earth, we can be learning and growing. Sanctification is a lifelong process, which means we will never get to a point where we have arrived.
As we discussed yesterday, we need to learn to be good listeners. And I believe that being quick to listen and slow to speak, just as James says in today’s key verses, is the key to having a teachable and humble spirit. When we’re constantly the ones talking, we are communicating that no one else could have something more valuable to say than us. But when we practice a posture of humility and choose to listen more, we are showing that we are teachable and willing to learn from those around us.
At the end of the day, we all need to have a teachable spirit and admit we don't know everything. Let’s decide together to be open and ready to learn.

Yes, Amen.
Excellent reminder as we begin a new work week. Share your testimony and give space for others to share theirs too. Hard part is to truly listen... without your ans

I already know that I have a lot to learn. May I keep learning more about Jesus and the Bible every day ðŸ™
I will admit I need to listen more than I speak.
God teaches me more every day. I am So Thankful to The Lord for His Patience with me. Thank You FATHER !
As a child growing up; I remember a time I would say "I know Mom" and she looked at me and said "lil girl, for as long as you live- there will always be enough you DON'T know to makeup a new world! Keep a teachable spirit. Priceless advice!
