Overcoming Fear and Worry
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
What are you most afraid of? Do you struggle with feeling anxious and worried all the time? Does fear seem to have a very comfortable seat in your life and seems to refuse to leave?
We need to realize that the enemy’s tactic is always fear. He wants nothing more than for us to be overcome with fear, worry, and anxiety. He likes to use anxiety to damage our lives because anxiety says that we don't trust that God will take care of us and meet the needs in our lives. Anxiety tells us that we need to be afraid of the future and afraid of today, instead of trusting that He is in charge.
Scripture describes the evil one as being like a roaring lion. Hearing his threats and voice creates fear and intimidation, but he has no power over you. Remember what Scripture says in 1 John, “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
If you know that Christ is Lord of your life, He lives inside of you. And that means you are invincible until God calls you home. You are not to be intimidated by the evil one. You are not to allow his fear, intimidation, and pressure in your life to influence how you think and how you live. That is exactly what the Scripture says. He is not a lion; he just acts like one.
When we recognize this truth, we can be confident that we are victorious because of Christ. We don’t have to be afraid. We don’t have to live with unbearable anxiety. We don’t have to go through each day overcome with worry. We can live in peace knowing that Jesus conquers all and we are more than conquerors because we are His children.

Thank you again, Dr. Dodd for a thought-provoking devotion! I'm trying to not worry as much as I have in the past. I'm giving it totally to the Lord!
We are only affected by fear and anxiety because we do not call upon God's Power within us ... When we trust in God's Power and call upon our Savior's Name, the evil one must "flee" from us !! Lord, help us to remember Your "Instructions" so that our lives may be lived for You alone !!
That describes me, anxiety should be my middle name.
