Your Heavenly Father
Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him – his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. (Psalm 68:4-6)
Father’s Day can be a tough day for many of us. If you didn’t grow up with a strong, godly example for a father, it can be difficult for you to reflect on this day. With that negative experience for your earthly father, it is hard to view your Heavenly Father in a positive way.
Let me reassure you; regardless of the kind of earthly father you grew up with, your Heavenly Father loves you much more. He always knows exactly what you are thinking, how you are feeling, what you are wrestling with, and how you need to be helped and encouraged. He understands and knows you better than anyone. He loves you more than anyone ever has or ever will.
Even though it is easy to ascribe the traits of your earthly father to your Heavenly Father, I encourage you to read and study what Scripture has to say about your Heavenly Father. The Bible gives us a closer look at the character of God. By learning more about His character, we will see Him for who He really is, not who we perceive Him to be, based on our earthly experiences.
As you experience Father’s Day, carve out some time to learn more about your Heavenly Father. Allow Him to replace the presuppositions you might have of Him with the truth found in His Word. Praise and thank Him that He is the most perfect Father you could ever imagine!

Thank you brother Curt for always bringing the good Word. As I read and prayed Psalms 91 this morning, the Lord brought to mind my own personal need to be a strong example and leader to my family, and my two sons.. ðŸ™ðŸ™ðŸ’ª
I am so thankful that my Heavenly Father is so good and loving to me â¤
