Carrying The Pain Of Your Past
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. – Psalm 55:22
When I was visiting with a Christian counselor, I asked him, “Isn’t it curious that sometimes we don't find ourselves ready to process the pain of our past until our fourth decade? Is that true?”
He responded saying, “I've been watching that happen for years.”
So I asked, “Why does it take us four decades to begin to process some pain?”
He said, “I don't know, but I would suggest this. Sometimes there needs to be enough of life that has flowed underneath our bridge until we are ready to talk about it.”
The reality is that some people will never talk about their past; they never process their pain and it hangs on into their eighties!
God does not want you to leave this life holding things that happened to you in your past. Maybe a parent said something to you that shaped how you see yourself. Maybe a schoolteacher said something to you that really stuck in your mind. Maybe they did something to you that you can never forget.
If you’re holding onto pain from your past, I pray that today you begin to take a step to let go of that pain and ask the Lord to do a healing work in your life. He doesn’t want you to be burdened by this pain forever. Instead, He wants to carry that burden for you and walk with you through your journey of healing.

Casting everyone of our cares is a necessity for a prosperous soul. The body is not designed to be dis-eased.
I was very blessed to have been in the class that I was in at Westside. We shared our deepest thoughts with each other and received much healing and acceptance from each other. We stayed small because others didn't want to face the fact that they may be part of their problems. Very sad. Our has parted our ways but we still share our sorrows and our excitement with each other. I am truly blessed.
