Be Sensitive To Your Witness
"Let your gentleness be evident to all." (Philippians 4:5)
When things are going great in your life, you are making lots of money, you are healthy, your relationships are strong, your marriage is solid, your kids respect and honor you, and your parents are blessing you; that is when everyone expects you to be happy. However, when you are going through a difficult season in your life, that is when the spotlight is on you. People are wondering, “How will you handle this?”
Paul writes, “Let your gentleness be evident to all.” In other words, you need to be thinking about your impact on your family, your friends, and anyone who comes in contact with you. When you are going through a difficult time, that’s when the “real you” will show up.
Think about it this way. If you have a tube of toothpaste and squeeze it hard, what will come out of the tube? Toothpaste or whatever is in the tube at the time, right? Of course! Well, when you get squeezed through circumstances, whatever comes out of your life and your mouth, reveals what is inside.
Therefore, it is important for us to realize that sometimes our greatest witness to other people comes not when God is blessing us, but when we are trying to find the hand of God in the middle of our pain. That's why Paul is saying, “I want you to be sensitive to your witness.” It will make all the difference in the world!

May I keep growing in the Word so that I will be filled with only godly things
I have found that the Lord allows trials in our lives to show us our weakness so that we can learn to walk in the Spirit rather than our own proudly flesh that raises its head in difficult situations. Lord Jesus, help me to walk in the power of Your might and not my own so that You might be glorified. In Jesus name. Amen.
