Be Different
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. (1 Peter 4:1-2)
As believers, our lives should be different from everyone else who is not a believer. Your life, because Jesus has saved you, should be different. There ought to be something different in the lives of people who have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit living inside of them. There is an expectation that we will be different.
We should be different with the mind of Christ. The Scripture talks about our needing to have the same attitude as Jesus when He suffered. We need to be thinking like Him and living like Him. We are here to serve. We are here to align ourselves with the Lord. We are here to represent the Lord.
Also, we are to be different for the will of God. In other words, your life should not be directed by what you want. The first questions should always be, “God, what do you want from my life? God, how do you want me to line up with this? What do you want me to do here? God, do you want me to sit in church and do nothing? How do you want me to be involved? God, do you want me to just learn more things, or do you want me to engage with you? God, what do you want me to do in my neighborhood? What do you want me to do in standing for you?”
If you are going to be different, your agenda must have the mind of Christ. Because you are different, you will be aligned with the perfect will of God. That is how you will be different.

I am a follower of Jesus. There are times when I ask if this is where I am to be. And I keep following His lead
