Staying in Love with Jesus
on August 10th, 2023
I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. (Revelation 3:8) One of the best takeaways we can learn from the church at Philadelphia (in Revelation Chapter 3) is that we must stay focused on Christ, no matter what tough circumstances come our way. This was a ch... Read More

Promoting Christ
on August 9th, 2023
Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. (Revelation 3:10-11) Philadelphia was intended to be a missionary center for the Hellenistic way of life. In fact, it was built as a Greek ci... Read More

Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. (1 Kings 19:5-6) The Bible exposes a real-life issue as we read about Elijah’s journey. Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. The number o... Read More

Are You Ready?
on August 7th, 2023
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21) Let me ask you a question, “If Jesus came today, are you ready?” If Jesus came today before ... Read More

It Will All Pan Out In The End
on August 6th, 2023
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (Matthew 24:36) When I was in college, I went to a Christian college that required that you take at least nine hours of Bible. At that particular time in my life, I wasn't really interested in the Bible. I had gone to Sunday School and I was majoring in music and speech. Because of my backgro... Read More

Don’t Let Your Love Grow Cold
on August 5th, 2023
“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.” (Matthew 24:9-12) In Matthew Chapter 24, Jesus was talking to H... Read More

No Limitations
on August 4th, 2023
When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened. But he said to them, “It is I;... Read More

God Can Multiply Your Little

Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”... Read More

Willingness To Pay the Price

“But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon -- Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego -- who pay no attention to you, O king. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3:12) Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were three young men caught in the web of a pagan nation’s immoral edicts and laws. Trapped in a vicious ploy of ... Read More

Falling Asleep at the Wheel
on August 1st, 2023
Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. (Revelation 3:2-3) On our honeymoon, Ginger and I decided that we would drive from Houston ... Read More

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. – Hebrews 10:24-25The word “Ekklesia” is the Koine Greek word for church.
