Listen to God
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)
Do you realize that any time there is political unrest, a country has a coup or goes to war, people are more open to the Gospel than at any other time? Have you noticed something in your own life? Are you seeking God when He is blessing you? Conversely, when you are flat on your back with no hope, are you more likely to seek Jesus?
Does God have your attention right now? I pray that He does. I pray He doesn’t need a loud voice to wake you up and get your attention to look at Him. If He needs it, God will use a loud voice. Do you know why? Because He not only longs for your attention, but He deserves your attention. Many of us are too busy looking at everyone else and casting blame on others for the predicament that we are in, instead of saying, “God, I hear your voice. I am stopping in my tracks.”
This reminds me of a time when I was on a rebellious streak against God. As a 16-year-old sophomore in high school, I was at a stopping point. I had to stop and say, “Oh God, where am I?” I knew exactly where I was. I was headed down the road having no idea where I was going. I was making good time, but I was on the road to destruction. Thankfully, God got my attention, because He was running after me. He was always running after me.
He will do the same thing in your life. Do you know why? Because He loves you. Many of us have friends who have heard God's loud voice in their life, but they are not stopping. They are still heading headlong into destruction. God wants to get your attention. He wants you to follow His path, and He will do whatever it takes to bring you back to Him. I pray that He has your attention today.
