Finding Godly Mentors
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17)
The best spiritual mentors are people who are walking toward purity and godliness. If you need a spiritual mentor, make sure you are learning from people who are living a life that honors the Lord. Find people who can pour wisdom and encouragement into you. Seek godly counsel as you make decisions.
People will make a huge difference in your life. That’s why it is vital that you choose wisely who you will listen to and who you will follow. You need to look for the right mentors. Don't just follow anyone. Look for the individuals who don't have it all together. Seek those who do not have an axe to grind, who are not angry, and who desire to find real freedom in Christ.
We should be looking for people who aren’t perfect, but who are striving to be obedient to the Lord. Be diligent as you search for those kinds of mentors in your life, those who are in the process of becoming more Christlike in their lives. That's the kind of person you need to speak truth into your life. Avoid people who think they have figured out everything; in reality, they haven’t. As I begin this New Year, I realize how very important it is to Get Closer to God's Word. Trusting The FATHER is My main path to living God's WILL. Thank YOU JESUS ! My LORD.
