Believing God’s Word
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
Many people are searching for the will of God. Not only do they want to know the will of God, but they want to stay in His will. Consequently, when someone asks me how they can find God’s will, the first thing I tell them is to receive and believe the Word of God.
The key is actually believing His Word. It is one thing to read something; it is entirely another thing to actually believe what you are reading. Believing God’s Word is extremely important when reading the Scriptures and seeking God’s will for your life.
These three critical presuppositions to believing the Word of God will help you discover the will of God:

The key is actually believing His Word. It is one thing to read something; it is entirely another thing to actually believe what you are reading. Believing God’s Word is extremely important when reading the Scriptures and seeking God’s will for your life.
These three critical presuppositions to believing the Word of God will help you discover the will of God:
- God’s Word is trustworthy. Paul writes in Romans 11:29 that God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. God does not withdraw what He gives, and that includes His Word. He is a faithful, trustworthy, and perfectly honest God, and He will follow through on what He says.
- God’s Word is for our walk. When God gave us His Word, it was for our benefit. Psalm 119:105 reminds us, Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path. God’s Word shows us where to walk, where we are standing, and where we need to go. Let’s not forget that the Bible is available to us so that our eyes might be opened to see what the Lord has for us.
- God’s Word is the best way. Many times, we think we know what is best for us. In reality, we have no idea what is best, and that’s why we need God and His Word. Jesus made this point when he said, “Which of you, if your son asked for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asked for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him?” (Matthew 7:9-11) Even though we may not always understand why God is telling us to do something, He knows best. The best thing we can do for ourselves is to trust Him and follow Him in obedience.

Thank you for another great and inspirational devotion. It means so much to me.
Yes !!! Let's read God's Word, apply it to our heart and lives, and follow His Example ... let's tell others "His Good News" !!!
Thank for this great devotional. People want the will of God in their lives, but they want to believe in God their own way and by their own standards, I normally tell people that the Bible is my limit, I do not want to go beyond nor outside of the Word of God. I am about to share this with others.
