Refuse To Compromise
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm -- neither hot nor cold -- I am about to spit you out of my mouth. (Revelation 3:15-16)
As John writes to the church at Laodicea in Revelation Chapter 3, we learn much about how this church looked compared to the community surrounding it. Note that, “This church was just like its city!” As a body, they were no different. There was total compromise with this city. They looked like their city and their city looked like them. There was nothing outstanding about the church at Laodicea.
The Christians in Laodicea did not attract other people to Christ. There was nothing different about them. They looked like, smelled like, and acted like the very people in this town. We see that there was something wrong with this church. They were living in a time of compromise, much like today.
Isn't it curious how many churches today are compromising the Word of God? They are choosing to embrace and celebrate sin and sinful behavior, as a norm. It has been said that we are in the Laodicean Church Age. I would sadly agree with that.
I know that last year was difficult for most of us. Many of us have been shuttered away and we have allowed compromise to slip into our lives. The very last thing we are concerned about is our spiritual health because we have developed a new norm of disconnect. The only connection we had was via the Internet, not only with ministry, but that's how we shopped. We probably did more online than ever before. That became our new norm. Sadly, as believers whose spiritual vitality is part of connection, we tend to compromise.
I want us to be mindful of the power of the Holy Spirit to make us aware when we are compromising. When we inevitably compromise our faith, we must turn back to Jesus. Unlike the church at Laodicea, I pray that we pursue His best so that we might be holy and set apart. Thereby, we will make it known to those around us that we are different because of Whose we are.

May I stay connected in a church that doesn't waver in what the Bible teaches. May I stay connected to the Holy Spirit to help and guide me each day
I know that The HOLY SPIRIT is My Guide. Thank YOU Lord for Your Word !
Amen. It's a daily choice to walk with Jesus and not our own fleshly desires. . We will walk out what we believe and what's most important to us. Help us LORD to do your will in Christ Jesus. Amen. ðŸ™
