Don’t Miss Out
He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. (John 1:10-13)
When Jesus came to earth in the form of a man, Scripture makes it very clear that He was not accepted, recognized, or received by many. People who had been waiting all their lives and told about the coming of the Messiah didn’t even recognize Him when He finally arrived.
If we are not careful, we can make the same mistake these people made. We can refuse to acknowledge the hand of God working in our lives. We can decide to look for hope and fulfillment in other people and other things. We could even choose not to accept His love, grace, and mercy. If we make these mistakes, we will surely miss out on the opportunity to have a relationship with the Lord.
God wants nothing more than for you to become a part of His family. He wants to have a close, personal, and intimate relationship with you, a relationship unlike any you will ever experience on earth. What is keeping you from accepting His invitation to know Him and be known by Him?
Sadly, many people will go their entire lives without ever experiencing what it’s like to have a relationship with Jesus. Don’t be one of those people. Instead, surrender your life to Him. Pray and ask Him to be the Lord of your life, and enter into a loving, personal relationship with your Heavenly Father.
