Run To Jesus First
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. – Isaiah 41:10
For many of us, the first place we try to find help when we fail is to go to other people. We say, “Please help me. Do you have the answer? Can you give me some insight? Do you have some resources that can help me get through this?” We tend to go to other people.
Many of us learned this as kids. When I was young, I had a terrible bicycle accident and split my chin wide open. When my sister came upon the crash, my first response was, “Go get mom!” Of course, she took my bag of candy, ran off, and never told my mother about my accident. This just goes to show that sometimes people (even your own family) will not be able to help you.
This is why the first person we should run to when we fail is Jesus. He shouldn’t be our last resort. He should be our first call. He is always there, ready, waiting, and willing to help us in the midst of our failures and shortcomings.
He has grace for us. He loves us. He has a plan for us. And He wants to help us with whatever we’re going through. But He doesn’t want to be our last resort.
Is Jesus who you run to first when you’ve failed or messed up? Or do you go searching for help and affirmation from other people? If the latter is true, I pray today would be the day you should ask the Holy Spirit to change your heart and your mindset, and that you would begin to run to Jesus first and foremost no matter what is going on in your life.

I humble myself turn to Jesus in my life's painful moments ðŸ™
I go to Jesus first but when I don't get immediate help I turn to my friends. People probably turn to others first because they don't get help right away and people say that we have to help ourselves.
