Your Story Is Not Finished
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
What a powerful verse! Even though Jeremiah’s message often dealt with judgement and destruction, he also relayed a message of hope for his people from heaven. That is what we all need…HOPE. To know that our story is not yet finished is a “game-changer.” It will revolutionize your life, if you will allow it. Just think for a moment. Where you are right now is not where you will always be. The situation which causes you consternation will eventually pass and you will be on the back side of it. The storm which is blowing hard right now in your face will soon pass. Whatever you are going through is temporary. By the way, even if it is smooth sailing right now, that is temporary, too. What should we do?
First, above all else, constantly seek God’s will. The Lord has said: “I know the plans I have for you…” Therefore, ask Him, “What is your plan for me?” Inquiring minds want to know, so just ask. Remember, He may not give you the complete picture, but He will show you what you need for your next steps; that is enough for now.
Second, seek God’s voice daily. Jeremiah repeated what he heard the Lord say to him. You can, too. God still speaks, and if you are listening, you will know in your knower what He is saying. Be still and listen…stay long enough with Him, so you will actually hear Him.
Third, expect the best, not the worst. God told Israel that He had “plans to prosper you and not to harm you.” Children of the King need to expect their Father has only great intentions for their future, as well as their present.
Messages of hope keep you going. They help you to believe that you are not even close to finishing the book. In fact, you are not even in the last chapter. There is so much more to come. Just think, even when this life is over, the best is truly yet to come. If you are a concerned parent, feeling hopeless over the present spiritual appetite your child has for the Lord, remember, their story is not finished. If you feel you are in a dead-end job and you are locked in there forever, remember, your story is not finished. It was Gracie Allen who once said, “Never place a period where God puts a comma!” Choose to live that way today!

Amen. ? Thank you for this beautiful reminder to live one day at a time. A day with the Lord is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. We live in Today...a day of mercy, a day of grace, of forgiveness ...a day to choose life and to have it more abundantly in Christ Jesus. Helps us Today, Lord to do Your will and to flourish in whatever season we are in for Your glory and namesake in Christ Jesus. Amen. ?
As a writer I have often put a period where my editor s have suggested a comma instead. And in my relationships with various people I have also found myself thinking that I should use a period, only to find out that God replaced it with a comma.
I know God isn't done with me, yet. There is so much to do for His kingdom. So many lost people on this planet
